Tamika Mapp
Running for Member of the New York State Assembly for the 68th Assembly District, State of New York
June 23rd, 2026 - New York 2026 Primary

Our community is facing a housing crisis, and we cannot afford the same old empty promises from the status quo. I am running for State Assembly with one clear, unbought mission: to protect our homes, ensure real affordability, and prevent our families from being priced out of East Harlem (El Barrio) and Yorkville.

For years, I’ve been on the ground fighting for our neighborhood. Whether you are a tenant struggling with rising rents, a senior trying to age in place, or a NYCHA resident fighting for safe living conditions under traditional Section 9 public housing, we all share the same goal: housing security. Furthermore, I am fully committed to standing with our middle-class co-op and condo owners. I will fight in Albany to bring back and protect the vital tax abatements our co-ops rely on, lowering the tax burdens that threaten to price working homeowners out of the equity they worked so hard to build. We must pass state laws that hold bad actors accountable, bring vacant buildings back into use for the public good, and stop the displacement that threatens our neighborhood's culture. I take zero corporate or special interest money because my only job is to stand up for you and your family. On June 23, let’s choose a new direction, protect our blocks, and ensure everyone in the 68th Assembly District has a safe, secure, and affordable place to call home.
